At the time of the positive pregnancy test in May, I hadn’t stopped keeping track of how far my previous pregnancy would have progressed if it hadn’t ended in miscarriage. I would have been in my second trimester. We would have been able to find out the baby’s gender. I would be aware of quickening, the tiny flutters of fetal movement.
